"Save Women's Sports Act" Passes House Committee (February 17, 2022)

“Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.” – Galatians 6:9

On Tuesday morning, February 15, 2022, the immensely important House Bill 23, the “Save Women’s Sports Act” was heard in the House Education Committee. Rep. Dotson has shown great courage by sponsoring this needed bill.

The aim of House Bill 23 is to make sure female athletes in middle school, high school, and college here in Kentucky are allowed to compete on a level playing field. This bill ensures that here in the Commonwealth athletes must compete on teams that align with their biological sex and not in accordance with their gender identity.

The “Save Women’s Sports Act” is exceedingly necessary due to the reality that biological men are utterly destroying women’s sports. Biological men who are identifying as women and competing in women’s sports are stealing championships, records, and scholarships that rightfully belong to women.

This fact has been clearly illustrated by Lia Thomas, who is a biological male and at the beginning of this swimming season identified as a woman which resulted in him transferring from UPenn’s men’s swimming team to the women’s team. Since joining the women’s team, although Thomas was an average swimmer against other males, is now completely dominating his female competition and stealing records from them.

The Kentucky General Assembly must step up and protect women by not allowing transgender ideology to destroy their sports. Thankfully, House Bill 23 passed the House Education Committee, a necessary and important step to making this bill law here in Kentucky.

LET US PRAY . . .
Father, thank You, for the Courage Rep. Dotson is portraying by sponsoring this extremely important bill. Lord, help the KY General Assembly to see the importance of this bill, and may they act quickly to make this bill law. Father, may Kentucky’s female athletes be protected from the dangerous consequences that come from allowing men to destroy their sports. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
