“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” – John 11:25-26

Lorrie Anne Parker was a devoted and faithful advocate for the right to life and great ministry friend to The Family Foundation. She is now at home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after passing away last week.
Since hearing a sermon on the devastation of abortion, Lorrie became a passionate advocate defending and protecting the unborn. Lorrie dedicated herself to defending human life as she devoted herself to numerous Right to Life efforts and pro-life ministries. Lorrie served on the Board of Right to Life of Central Kentucky for 28 years, serving two terms as Chapter President.
Lorrie was a longtime faithful member of Porter Memorial Baptist Church in Lexington, where she and her husband faithfully taught and led a Sunday School Class for over 20 years. In addition to service in her church, Lorrie also served in state government, where she served in both Governor Ernie Fletcher’s and Governor Matt Bevin’s administrations here in Kentucky.
The Family Foundation was also blessed to work with Lorrie, Kathy Rutledge, and others in helping to establish the Kentucky Memorial for the Unborn located in the historic Frankfort Cemetery overlooking the State Capitol. Lorrie most recently served as Chairman of the Memorial Committee. The Kentucky Memorial for the Unborn was established so that there would be a place for people to remember and receive healing from the deep wounds caused by abortion and miscarriage.
The monument offers a unique place of closure and reconciliation to all who grieve and suffer as a result of the loss of an unborn child. The mission of the monument is to reach out to those with broken hearts so that wounds can ultimately be healed through Jesus Christ our Lord. You can learn more about the Kentucky Memorial for the Unborn, how to honor a precious unborn child, and support this special ministry at kymemorialfortheunborn.org.
