Let Us Pray

Religious Freedom (May 18, 2022)

“Live as free people…” – 1 Peter 2:16a

Many Americans are a bit confused when it comes to Religious Freedom, and they do not realize it is actually rooted in the inerrant and infallible Word of God. Religious Freedom is seen all throughout Scripture in the reality that God Himself gives human beings the choice to either believe in Him or not. He never coerces or forces one to choose Him.

As Americans, we are beyond blessed that our Constitution actually upholds this Biblical fact. Part of the First Amendment of our Constitution states, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.”

Many Americans, unfortunately, do not realize how much they take our First Amendment right to Religious Freedom for granted. For many of our brothers and sisters in Christ around the globe, the thought of being able to freely worship Christ Jesus in public is simply inconceivable.

Let us resolve today, that we will no longer take this precious right to Religious Freedom for granted. May we exercise this right and freely tell our culture who is lost and dying about the wonderful news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Furthermore, let us exercise this right to influence our Commonwealth for the glory of God by continuing to promote God’s truth in our culture, government, and communities.

LET US PRAY…
Father, Thank You, for allowing us as Americans to freely be able to worship You. Lord, empower us to use our First Amendment right to honor and glorify You in Kentucky and America. Father, may we truly bring honor to You in all of our actions and deeds. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
