The month of June, which is just four weeks away, has been designated by some across our nation as “Pride Month.” So-called “Pride Month” is a calendar month that some try to denote as a time to celebrate the LGBTQ culture and community.
Pride celebrations are focused on celebrating and promoting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or other “queer or questioning ” lifestyles. Over the last decade, Pride celebrations have taken place across America, and the celebrations consist of festivals, events, and celebrations of various kinds which have largely been funded by major American corporations.
Over the last two years, however, we have seen brave, courageous, and strong Americans stand against corporate America’s attempt to force on the people LGBTQ initiatives. The pressure and pushback by the American people have greatly affected these major corporations’ bottom line, such as businesses like Target, John Deere, Harely-Davidson, and more, and has ultimately led the companies to drop DEI strategies and progressive political causes.
Now, we are not only witnessing the major corporations in America retreating on DEI initiatives, but we are also witnessing a full-blown retreat of these corporations sponsoring Pride celebrations for this coming month. Last month, organizers of the San Francisco Pride Parade in a shocking moment announced that they are “really disappointed” about the surge of businesses that are dropping their support totaling over hundreds of thousands of dollars lost when compared to previous years.
The San Francisco Pride Parade is not a one-off, all over the nation, the same story is being told that businesses are dropping their sponsorships for Pride celebrations. According to Gravity Research, almost 40% of corporate leaders intend to reduce their observance of Pride this year which is directly correlated to the massive loss in funds for Pride celebrations. This should serve as a reminder to us that we can have great influence in our nation for truth if we are simply willing to be bold and courageous.

Father, we praise You for the full-blown retreat of major corporations in their support of Pride celebrations. Lord, please enlighten those who are actively celebrating “Pride Month” to realize that in actuality they are celebrating sin. Lord, help us as Your people to always speak the truth even when it is not easy. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
