President Trump Correctly Calls Transgender Issue “Crazy” at SOTU

On Tuesday, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, stood before the United States Congress and delivered the State of the Union address. During the historically long speech, President Trump became the first President in history to courageously condemn transgender ideology, including gender transition procedures.

As President Trump called on Congress to ban the mutilating gender transition procedures, he directed the chamber’s attention to Sage Blair, who sat in the gallery as he told her story. Sage, at fourteen years old, was helped by officials at her school in Virginia to socially transition to a new “gender” while keeping her parents in the dark. Sage then ran away from home, and after a left-wing judge refused to return her to her parents, she was put in an all-boys home where her experience was nothing short of horrific. Ultimately, Sage reembraced her biological reality as a woman and will be attending Liberty University on a full scholarship.

Then, President Trump stated, “But surely we can all agree no state can be allowed to rip children from their parents’ arms and transition them to a new gender against the parents’ will. Who would believe that? We must ban it, and we must ban it immediately.” After the statement from the President, many stood in loud applause; however, many Democrats remained seated. President Trump then spoke clearly and correctly, stating, “Look, nobody stands up, these people are crazy. I’m telling you. They’re crazy.”

The reality is, if one cannot applaud protecting children from mutilating harm in the name of gender ideology, or applaud protecting parental rights, they are lost morally, and are, in fact, senseless. Sadly, here in Kentucky, Governor Andy Beshear recently was the featured speaker at an LGBTQ rally, featuring a drag performer in the Capitol Education Center, where he continued to promote the transgender madness.

At the Kentucky Fairness Rally, Gov. Beshear once again couched his advocacy of the LGBTQ worldview by manipulating teachings of the Christian faith. During the speech, Gov. Beshear stated, “I’m tired of faith being hijacked to hurt people instead of to help people. I think it’s time that we take it back as a force for good in public life.” What it is time for, Governor, is to drop the crazy promotion of the transgender ideology by using your “faith,” which is causing lifelong hurt and pain to vulnerable and confused children.

For our “Let Us Pray” devotionals during the 2026 KY General Assembly, we will be taking time during the legislative session to encourage you to pray, by name, for our elected leaders (see below). Let us commit to praying regularly for our Kentucky governmental leaders to act in ways that bring honor and glory to Jesus Christ and are a blessing to our Commonwealth.

LET US PRAY…

Father, we praise You that President Trump had the courage to speak the truth on the transgender madness that is causing young and vulnerable people lifelong pain. Lord, we pray for a federal ban on gender mutilating procedures to be passed by the U.S. Congress as many states, including Kentucky, have already done to protect America’s kids. Father, please enlighten Gov. Beshear to his serious error in his promotion of the LGBTQ worldview. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Join us in praying for our elected leaders throughout  the 2026 Legislative Session!
