Since 2000, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved mifepristone for chemical abortions after it conducted very limited and narrow research that concluded that the abortion pill was “safe and effective.” Referring to that limited study, since 2016, the FDA has ripped away all protections on chemical abortions.
Days ago, however, the Ethics and Public Policy Center (EPPC) just released a new groundbreaking study revealing what we already knew, and that is that the abortion pill, mifepristone, is not nearly as safe as we have been told. The FDA has long stated that less than half a percent of women experience serious complications from the abortion pill. The research conducted by EPPC, however, found that statement to be false.
The research by EPPC is the largest study ever conducted on the abortion pill, and it found that nearly 11% of those who have an abortion using mifepristone suffer from extremely serious life-threatening conditions such as sepsis, infection, or hemorrhaging. The research was conducted during the years 2017 and 2023, and it revealed that women are 22 times more likely to be harmed by the abortion pill than the FDA suggests.
As chemical abortions continue to rise significantly, women need to be made aware of the serious life-long damage that can accompany the use of mifepristone. It is time for the FDA to take a stand and tell the truth about the abortion pill and the damage it causes women, and outlaw mifepristone as it is wrecking the bodies of women who use it.

Father, we praise You for this research that reveals the truth about the extremely damaging abortion pill that not only kills an innocent person but also greatly harms the woman who takes it. Lord, empower the FDA to reinvestigate mifepristone and take the necessary steps to outlaw the pill. Father, empower the FDA to tell the truth about the abortion pill. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
