Let Us Pray: Minnesota School Shooting – An Act of Unadulterated Evil

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” – Isaiah 41:10

One week ago, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, parishioners and young students gathered in the historic Annunciation Catholic school and church for the first all-school Mass of the year, just as they have for years. Before the mass could conclude, Minneapolis and the nation were left in mourning after an act of unadulterated evil took place.

A man who identifies as a “transgender individual” stood outside the church with a loaded gun and opened fire on the students through the church windows, and then, like the coward he was, killed himself at the rear of the church. The shooting wounded nineteen people, most of whom were children, and devastatingly left two young students dead.

Recently discovered evidence revealed that the shooter had a hatred toward the Christian faith, which was the motive behind his gruesome attack on those in the church. In a mocking manner, on one of his magazines for his rifle, he wrote, “Where is your God?” To answer his mocking question, God was and is on His throne ruling sovereignly and rendering righteous judgment.

We can rest assured God will bring about justice in this situation as Romans 12:19 states, “Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, ‘Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.’” The taunting question of “where is your God” is not being uttered right now by the wicked shooter as he faces the holy wrath of God (Romans 2:5-6).

Another point to make here is an obvious one. When mental illness, in this case, transgenderism, is celebrated, it comes as no surprise that those in a state of mental illness would act in such a mentally unstable way. It is beyond time, after all of these mass shootings coming from transgender identifying people, for those struggling with their biological makeup to receive real psychological help to come out of mental delusion in order to live a fruitful life.

LET US PRAY…

Father, please comfort the families and friends of those who lost their lives in this senseless attack with Your peace that transcends all understanding. Lord, may our nation as a collective whole understand that transgenderism is truly a mental illness that needs to be treated, not celebrated. Father, we praise You that You are holy and righteous and that You render justice in times of great injustice. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
