Let Us Pray

May the Name of the Lord be Lifted High (April 13, 2022)

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance.” – Psalm 33:12

After a two-year hiatus due to Covid-19, the Governor’s Prayer Breakfast will return to the Commonwealth tomorrow morning. This is the first time Gov. Beshear will host the longtime event during his time as Governor of Kentucky.

The Prayer Breakfast will take place on the Capitol grounds where state leaders and citizens will gather to pray for our state. May Kentuckians across our state faithfully and fervently lift up the name of Jesus and seek His face.

Also, today and tomorrow the Kentucky Legislature will reconvene to close out this year’s legislative session. Even though the finish line is closing in quickly, there is still important work left to be accomplished.

The General Assembly must step up and protect female athletes in the Commonwealth by overriding the Governor’s veto of Senate Bill 83, the Save Women’s Sports Act. Also, the General Assembly must protect women and their preborn children by overriding the Governor’s veto of House Bill 3, the Humanity in Healthcare Act.

As state leaders gather at the Governor’s Prayer Breakfast, and as the General Assembly reconvenes, may all that is said and done bring glory to God!

LET US PRAY…

Father, we pray that You will be acknowledged as Lord over our nation by our leaders and by citizens alike. Father, may the Governor’s Prayer Breakfast be a time where You are lifted up and not a politician or a political party. Lord, may our state truly call out to You for Your wisdom and healing on our land. Father, strengthen the General Assembly to override the Governor’s vetoes of Senate Bill 83 and House Bill 3. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
