Let Us Pray: Massive Victory for Life in Kentucky

“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.” – Psalm 139:13

In November of 2024, the ACLU filed a legal challenge on behalf of a pregnant mother, “Mary Poe,” seeking class-action status for “pregnant individuals.” The lawsuit requested Kentucky courts to make up a fictional right to abortion that would render Kentucky’s pro-life laws useless, despite the 150-year pro-life history of the Commonwealth.

A month later in December of 2024, there was a preliminary hearing held on the ACLU’s meritless pro-abortion lawsuit. A ruling was delayed by the court so that both parties, attorneys for the ACLU and the Attorney General’s team, could collect evidence as to whether the plaintiff could accurately represent a class of all women who are or may become pregnant.

Devastatingly, after the hearing, the ACLU released a heartbreaking statement that Mary Poe had crossed state lines and received an abortion, ending the life of Baby Poe in the womb. The court allowed Poe to remain a plaintiff in the case because she “satisfied Kentucky’s constitutional standing requirements at the time of filing when she was pregnant and seeking abortion care.”

Praise be to God, days ago, the ACLU released a statement that it had asked for the lawsuit to be voluntarily dismissed without explanation. Although there is still much work to be accomplished in the effort to protect human life, this is a massive victory for life here in Kentucky as our pro-life laws remain in full effect protecting innocent life in the womb.

LET US PRAY…

Father, we praise You for Attorney General Coleman and his team as they defended Kentucky’s pro-life laws. Lord, we praise You that this lawsuit brought by the ACLU threatening Kentucky’s pro-life laws has been voluntarily dismissed. Father, we are so thankful for the pro-life laws that are in place and are in full effect protecting innocent life here in Kentucky. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
