Let Us Pray: Live Action’s “Baby Oliver” Reveals the Beauty of Life in the Womb

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” – Psalm 139:13

In 2021, Live Action, an influential pro-life advocacy organization, produced a scientifically accurate computer animation video revealing the prenatal development of an embryo in the womb called “Baby Olivia.” The video was developed by a panel of medical doctors who are experts in embryonic and fetal development, and it displays a very detailed glimpse of a baby’s development in the womb from the point of fertilization to birth.

“Baby Olivia” inspired six states to pass laws requiring students in public schools to view the detailed prenatal development that takes place in the womb. Unfortunately, Kentucky is not one of them, as Rep. Nancy Tate has introduced the Baby Olivia Act during the last two sessions, but House leadership has refused to advance the bills.

Recently, Live Action released a sequel to the video “Meet Baby Olivia,” called “Meet Baby Oliver.” The newer “Baby Oliver” video reveals even earlier stages of fetal development with greater scientific clarity and detail. Live Action states, “It’s an unparalleled, scientifically accurate depiction of human life in the womb, allowing viewers to see and understand the remarkable complexity and humanity of the developing child at the earliest ages.”

About the video, Live Action’s president, Lila Rose, said, “When people see the beauty of life in the womb, the humanity of the growing child, and the life that exists from the moment of fertilization, they understand that all human life has immeasurable value.” The video reveals the miraculous development from the very moment of fertilization to birth and helps one to understand that an embryo is not just a collection of cells, but rather a real human being, made in God’s image, who has incalculable worth and dignity.

Hopefully, the Kentucky General Assembly will pass legislation requiring public school students to view “Meet Baby Oliver,” as when the curtains are pulled back, and one can truly see a precious human being in the womb at the earliest stages of development, it helps reveal the deep need to protect human life at all stages.

LET US PRAY…

Father, we thank you for the states that have passed Baby Olivia laws, for Rep. Nancy Tate’s introduction of prenatal development education bills in the Kentucky General Assembly, and for her courageous defense of human life. Lord, we pray that the Kentucky General Assembly will pass such a law in this next session. Father, we thank You for the powerful work of Live Action in their development of these videos and more. Father, empower us to be a strong defense for human life in every way that we can. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
