Legislative Session Coming to a Close in Kentucky

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” – 2 Timothy 4:7

It is hard to believe that the 2024 Kentucky legislative session is quickly coming to an end as time seems to be moving at warp speed. The veto period begins this Friday, and the last official day of the legislative session is on Monday, April 15th.

There are crucial pro-family bills that hang in the balance that need to be passed immediately or they will simply die. The Kentucky General Assembly needs to move quickly on legislative measures such as the “Healthcare Heroes Recruitment and Retention Act” (SB 239), Senate Bill 147 which protects children from sexually explicit businesses and performances, House Bill 278, and more pro-family bills.

Legislators need to step up and fulfill their God-given responsibility to promote good in our society by passing these God-honoring legislative measures. Leadership in both chambers carries even more responsibility in fulfilling their God-given tasks of promoting good in our society by passing God-honoring legislation. They must, in the very short time left in this legislative session, thrust forward these pro-family bills so that the General Assembly can vote on them and pass them.

As these crucially important bills need to be passed quickly it is vitally important for the Body of Christ here in Kentucky to rise up, speak out, and boldly advocate for God-honoring public policy as the 2024 legislative session is quickly coming to a close. May we finish strong and finish well for the Lord in the closing of this legislative session.

LET US PRAY

Father, help us, to finish this legislative session well by faithfully and fervently advocating for public policy that honors You. Lord, may the General Assembly act quickly and pass these highly important bills that bring You glory. Father, empower leadership in both chambers to boldly push pro-family bills that remain in the balance. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
