Israel at War

“Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.” – Psalm 25:22

On Saturday, Hamas, the Palestinian militant group that controls the 25-mile-long Gaza strip launched a heinous surprise attack on Israel. In the brutal attack, Hamas fired thousands of rockets into Israel, and militants invaded the nation by air, sea, and land. The attacks brought great destruction and devastation to parts of Israel.

According to reports, the evil attack has left at least 900 Israelis dead along with 11 of our own American citizens deceased. The vile terrorist group has captured and is holding many other Israelis hostage, and it is believed that there are other Americans being held hostage as well.

On Sunday, Israel declared war against Hamas. The prime minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu stated strongly, “We are at war and we will win it.” Netanyahu also issued a severe warning to Hamas in a televised address to the nation when he said, “We have only started striking Hamas… What we will do to our enemies in the coming days will reverberate with them for generations.”

Israel’s military forces have responded swiftly. Israeli warplanes have pulverized Gaza City with relentless bombing leaving parts of the city in ashes. Israel is considering launching a ground invasion to exterminate Hamas from Gaza
land.

LET US PRAY…
Father, please comfort the families who have lost their loved ones in this ruthless attack launched by Hamas. Lord, please give Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and all of Israel’s leaders Your wisdom and courage to act decisively and courageously in this time of war. Father, may your protection and peace cover the land of Israel. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
