Let Us Pray: Islamic Socialist Zohran Mamdani Wins Mayoral Race in NYC

“When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan.” – Proverbs 29:2

On Tuesday, in the off-year election, one of the most high-profile races being watched nationwide was the New York City mayoral race. The anticipated race was between Ugandan-born Muslim and self-described democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani, the former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who registered as an Independent although he was a longtime Democrat, and Republican Curtis Sliwa.

Concerningly, the self-proclaimed democratic socialist won big in the Big Apple. There is no other way to put it, it is very disturbing that our nation’s largest city just elected a socialist, a man who believes in forms of Marxism and governmental control over the economy, to be the mayor of the city.

Mamdani has publicly stated his desire to push far-left socialist ideals in NYC, such as wealth redistribution, controlling rental prices with government mandates, creating government-owned grocery stores, and more. Furthermore, it is troublesome that Mamdani has expressed support for globalizing the intifada, a call for worldwide support of Hamas and other radical Islamic terrorists.

It must be considered what this means nationally for the Democratic Party, as their candidate who won the mayoral race in NYC is an extreme socialist. It is fair to ask, is this the future of the Democratic Party?

It must also be noted that New York City is not the same city of years past. The former glory is gone, as mass migration has transformed the city. Simply put, Mamdani won the votes of many young people and foreigners who want communism; he did not win the votes of American-born New Yorkers who want historical American principles.

LET US PRAY…

Father, we pray that New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani will come to the realization that socialism ends up only destroying a society, as history proves over and over. Lord, empower leaders in the Democratic Party to stand firm against the socialism that Mamdani is promoting before it gets too deep in the party. Father, may our nation always be characterized by freedom. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
