Since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022, abortion giant Planned Parenthood has suffered significant financial problems. This is due in no small part to the faithful fight of the pro-life movement that continues to deal significant blows to the death mill.
Days ago, Planned Parenthood announced that it is closing its last two “clinics” in Louisiana, making the state the most populous in the nation without a Planned Parenthood location. Louisiana becomes the fourth state in the country to be completely free of any Planned Parenthood “clinics” or locations.
The other three states that have no Planned Parenthood clinics include Wyoming, North Dakota, and Mississippi. The closing of these abortion facilities follows Congress’s decision to suspend Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood for one year. In a recent announcement, Planned Parenthood said that because of its funding crisis, up to 200 facilities are at risk of closing.
Congress must build upon this one year suspension by permanently defunding Planned Parenthood and other abortion mills. Tax dollars should never subsidize abortion. In Kentucky, there are currently two Planned Parenthood locations still in operation; they are located in Louisville and Lexington. Thankfully, however, these two “clinics” are not allowed to perform abortions and are potentially struggling financially now that their taxpayer funds have been turned off.

Father, we praise You that four states in our nation have been completely rid of the evil organization known as Planned Parenthood. Lord, may the two Planned Parenthood locations in our Commonwealth close quickly. Father, may our nation one day be one where Planned Parenthood in totality is no more. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
