Let Us Pray: Father's Day

“Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” – Ephesians 6:4

This coming Sunday is Father’s Day; a day set aside for Americans to celebrate the incredible gift of fatherhood. Our nation desperately needs Biblically faithful, strong, bold, courageous, caring, and loving fathers who lead their families in the ways of the Lord.

Justin Ricklefs correctly stated once that “the power of a dad in a child’s life is unmatched.” Fathers carry a heavy but joyful burden because they are commanded by the Scriptures to play a powerful role in the life of their children, a specific role no one else can, which is to provide, protect, love, and lead their children in the instruction of the Lord.

For our nation to flourish, having biblical fathers in the homes of American children is an absolute necessity. Fathers who care for their children spiritually, physically, and emotionally are needed now more than ever.

Let us thank God for the Biblical fathers across our nation who have stepped up to the plate to lead and love their families in a God-honoring way. Also, this weekend, set time aside to praise God for your father, and if you are able, to thank your father for all he has done for you and your family.

LET US PRAY…

Father, we ask that You help fathers to love and care for their families in a way that honors You. Lord, we thank You for the Fathers who are faithfully fulfilling their Biblical command in leading their family in light of Your Word. Lord, please comfort those who have lost their earthly father and are grieving on this day. Father, we thank You for being our perfect heavenly Father who takes care of us, loves us, and provides for us. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
