Colossal Victories for the Commonwealth (April 14, 2022)

“Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good…” – Psalm 135:3a

Yesterday, the Commonwealth of Kentucky experienced what can only be characterized as two “colossal” victories. The General Assembly during the legislative session had overwhelmingly passed two crucial bills, the Save Women’s Sports Act (SB 83) and the Humanity in Healthcare Act (HB 3).

Unfortunately, Gov. Beshear decided to put his woke political base ahead of the interest of female athletes, mothers, and their preborn children by vetoing both bills. Thankfully, the General Assembly stood strong and with courage did what was right by overriding both vetoes.

Yesterday, both the Save Women’s Sports Act (SB 83) and the Humanity in Healthcare Act (HB 3) were passed once again in both chambers rendering the Governor’s vetoes completely powerless. Praise the Lord, these bills are now law here in Kentucky.

Due to the fact that the Save Women’s Sports Act is now law in the Commonwealth, female athletes are now ensured that they will be able to compete on a level playing field and not against biological males. Now, women athletes in Kentucky can rest assured that they will not have their championships, scholarships, and records stolen from them by men. Riley Gaines, a swimmer for the University of Kentucky’s women’s swimming team was in attendance for the vote at the Capitol and was honored by the Senate for her courageous stand for women in athletics.

Also, because the Humanity in Healthcare Act is now law, which has many pro-life provisions, women and their preborn children now have many more protections. Furthermore, this law now prohibits mail-order abortion drugs and taxpayer funds from going to abortion mills.

Kentuckians should exclaim with the Psalmist, “Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good!” Let us rejoice in the Lord for these colossal victories of righteousness in our beloved Commonwealth!

LET US PRAY…

Father, thank You, for these incredible victories that protect Kentucky’s female athletes, mothers, and preborn children. Lord, we thank You, for the courage on display by the General Assembly to do what is right by overriding these vetoes. Father, may we continue to press forward in actively cultivating a state where You are honored. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
