“Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” – 1 Corinthians 15:55
Charlie Kirk (1993-2025) was the founder of Turning Point USA (TPUSA) and was one of the most influential and high-profile young Americans in the nation. Kirk was a fearless defender of the Christian faith, conservatism, and common sense who deeply loved the United States and impacted the younger generations in America for truth like no one else.
Kirk spent a great amount of time on college campuses where he graciously, articulately, and intelligently voiced the truth in dialogue with students about a multitude of issues, including abortion, marriage, gender, the Christian faith, and more. On Wednesday, Charlie Kirk and TPUSA launched the “American Comeback Tour” at Utah Valley University. Shortly after the event started, an assassin fired a fatal shot at Kirk.
Horrifically, Kirk was assassinated. Kirk was pronounced dead at the hospital he was rushed to after being gruesomely shot. He leaves behind his wife, Erika, and their two young children, all of whom he clearly loved deeply.
This assassination was an attack on more than just Charlie Kirk; it was an attack on our Republic, as it was clearly an attack on the freedom of speech and on our Christian values. Charlie Kirk was killed for daring to speak the truth on moral, political, legal, legislative, and faith issues.
Days ago, Charlie on his X account posted, “Jesus defeated death so you can live.” Due to Charlie’s deep faith in Christ, even in physical death, he lives with Christ forevermore in eternity where he heard the Lord say, “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:23). Let us rejoice that evil does not have the final say, and that Charlie who is a martyr and was a soldier and courageous witness for Christ is now at home with the Lord.
May we all honor his legacy by faithfully doing what he did so well: proclaiming the Gospel unapologetically, loving life and our family, and engaging the culture boldly with truth as a God-honoring way to love our neighbor.
LET US PRAY…
Father, we thank You for the life and work of Charlie Kirk, and we are thankful that his legacy will only continue to advance through TPUSA. Lord, please comfort his family, and may they experience Your mercy in an all-encompassing way. Father, we pray for the perpetrator of this evil action to be brought to justice. Lord, please heal our nation. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
