In the 2025 Kentucky legislative session, Rep. Shane Baker filed HJR 15, which sought to restore the Ten Commandments monument to the K Capitol grounds. Thankfully, this important legislation was successfully passed in the Kentucky House and Senate. And thanks to HJR 15, praise be to God, the historic Ten Commandments monument now sits in its rightful place today on the State Capitol grounds in Frankfort.

To build on this momentum, Rep. Josh Calloway and Rep. Richard White recently filed a bill that would restore the Ten Commandments to Kentucky’s public schools. HB 670 would mandate that in every classroom in all of Kentucky’s public schools, colleges, and universities, there must be a display of the Ten Commandments along with a description of their impact on American history.

Now is a promising time for the Kentucky General Assembly to pass this legislative measure, as the current U.S. Supreme Court has been more willing to ensure a proper and historic understanding of the First Amendment than in the past. This bill would reinstate the law that the Supreme Court overturned in the 1980 Stone v. Graham decision, which wrongly overturned the Kentucky statute requiring public schools to display the Ten Commandments.

This important legislative measure would, furthermore, add the Ten Commandments to a list of historic documents that schools could make use of during educational classroom discourse. This bill should become law in Kentucky to ensure future generations of Kentucky students are taught the historical principles and timeless values, found in Scripture, that anchor our society.

For our “Let Us Pray” devotionals during the 2026 KY General Assembly, we will be taking time during the legislative session to encourage you to pray, by name, for our elected leaders (see below). Let us commit to praying regularly for our Kentucky governmental leaders to act in ways that bring honor and glory to Jesus Christ and are a blessing to our Commonwealth.

LET US PRAY…

Father, we praise You for the leadership and courage of both Rep. Josh Calloway and Rep. Richard White in filing this important bill. Lord, may this bill successfully pass the Kentucky House and Senate with overwhelming numbers. Father, may we as a state obey Your commandments and honor Your ways. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Join us in praying for our elected leaders throughout  the 2026 Legislative Session!
