Big Win for Bathroom Sanity in Idaho

The Idaho state legislature recently protected sanity across the Gem State. Just days ago, the legislature gave final passage to House Bill 752, which was quickly signed into law by Governor Brad Little.

This bill protects women and girls from having intimate spaces like bathrooms or changing rooms infiltrated by men. The bill prohibits individuals from using bathrooms or changing rooms of the opposite biological sex, regardless of their “gender identity.” This bill not only applies to public government-owned buildings, but it also expands and encompasses places of public accommodation, like private businesses.

The first offense of breaking this law carries a misdemeanor, which could result in up to one year in prison. If a second offense occurs within five years of the first offense, it will be a felony, which could be punishable by up to five years in prison. Critics say this bill is radical, but there is nothing radical about protecting women. The truth is, men do not belong in women’s bathrooms or changing rooms anywhere at any time.

The Kentucky General Assembly has had the chance to act on House Bill 867 by Rep. Bill Wesley, which would mandate that anybody who uses a restroom in a public building in Kentucky must use the restroom that aligns with their biological sex. Sadly, the bill has seen very little movement. The Kentucky legislature should not let this opportunity pass, as they have the chance to protect women and reaffirm what has always been right and true: men do not belong in women’s bathrooms.

LET US PRAY…

Father, we praise You for the Idaho state legislature in its courage to pass this law that protects women and expands sanity across Idaho. Lord, convict and empower the Kentucky General Assembly to act on House Bill 867 quickly. Father, may we always stand firm and defend what is right and true. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
