“Before I was born the Lord called me; from my mother’s womb he has spoken my name.” – Isaiah 49:1
The recently passed budget bill from earlier in July included language suspending taxpayer funding to big abortion for one year. This specific provision protects hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars from going to Planned Parenthood and other abortion organizations throughout America.
The bill instructs the federal government to halt Medicaid payments to abortion mills that received $800,000 or more from Medicaid in 2023. Not shockingly, in response, Planned Parenthood filed a lawsuit against the provision in the new law in an effort to stop the halt in funding.
In mid-July, U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani in Boston granted a preliminary injunction stopping the federal government from blocking funds from Planned Parenthood that don’t perform abortions or didn’t receive at least $800,000 in Medicaid reimbursements in any one year. Days ago, however, sadly, a federal judge ruled that Planned Parenthood clinics across the nation must continue to be reimbursed from Medicaid funding.
Medicaid is a government health care program for those who meet certain conditions to qualify. Taxpayers’ money, through Medicaid, should never be used for the exact opposite of healthcare – the termination of human life via abortion performed by the abortion giant Planned Parenthood.
LET US PRAY…
Father, may this federal judge’s order to reinstate Medicaid money to Planned Parenthood be legally challenged and defeated. Lord, we pray for the complete and total defunding of Planned Parenthood and other abortion organizations. Father, may our nation one day honor and protect every human being from the gruesome horrors of abortion. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
