Let Us Pray

A Reason to Rejoice

“Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous ones; And shout for joy, all you who are upright in heart.” – Psalm 32:11

Throughout 2022, there have been events that happened in our nation that have brought about rejoicing for believers in the Lord. One of the greatest moments of rejoicing for Christians in America this year took place on June 24th.

On Friday, June 24, 2022, America felt tsunami-like shock waves run throughout the very fabric of our nation as the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the landmark 1973 decision of Roe v. Wade that legalized abortion and allowed for the killing of over 63 million Americans since that time. This pro-life victory came after nearly five decades of pro-life Americans laboring intensively to protect and defend innocent life in the U.S. since the egregious Roe decision.

Thankfully, now the issue of abortion has been returned to the individual states that constitute our Union to decide on. Praise be to God that many lives have been saved since the U.S. Supreme Court returned the issue of abortion back to where it belongs, the legislature of each state.

This monumental moment is truly a reason to rejoice as image bearers of Almighty God are protected and defended in multiple states throughout our nation. As it stands now, nearly zero abortions are being performed in our Commonwealth. It is of utmost importance in the days to come that our Commonwealth takes the necessary steps to ensure that all human life is protected and ensured the right to life.

LET US PRAY…

Father, we shout for joy and rejoice in You for the righteous decision of the U.S. Supreme Court earlier this year in the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Lord, empower us to do all that we can to protect and respect life here in our Commonwealth in the days ahead. Father, we praise You for wonderfully creating us in Your image. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
