Let Us Pray

A New Year, A New General Assembly, An Unchanged Goal

“Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you.” – 1 Samuel 12:24

The New Year, 2023, is now here and officially upon us. With a new year in full swing, many will devote themselves to new endeavors, new missions, and new goals that will bring about better health, prosperity, and more.

However, as believers in the Lord, our overarching goal remains unchanged and uncompromised. As seasons and times change, a believer’s goal endures as it is laid out in the Scriptures. Samuel clearly stated to the people of his day what the overarching goal of their lives should be, and what the goal of our lives, as well, should be today.

Samuel told the people that they are to “serve the Lord faithfully with all their heart” (1 Samuel 12:24). As we launch into 2023, may we be resolved in each and every situation to serve God faithfully with every fiber of our being.

Today also begins the new 2023 General Assembly here in Kentucky. With the major legislative battles that lie ahead may we hold fast to our calling to serve the Lord faithfully. Let us speak and act with clarity and conviction. May we directly advance the truth about life, family, marriage, religious liberty, human sexuality, and more to those in power who shape our Commonwealth.

LET US PRAY…

Father, empower us in this new year and in this new legislative session to serve You faithfully and fervently. Lord, may we be faithful to promote Your truth no matter the cost in this General Assembly and throughout our culture. Father, thank You, for allowing us the privilege of representing You and Your truth to our world. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
