Let Us Pray

A Highly Concerning Poll

“And My people who are called by My name humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” – 2 Chronicles 7:14

The Wall Street Journal collaborated with NORC at the University of Chicago, a nonpartisan research organization, to produce a poll revealing Americans’ views on traditional values. The traditional values that are examined in the poll are issues such as Americans’ religious faith, patriotism, having children, and more.

To put it bluntly, this new Wall Street Journal poll is highly concerning. The poll found that our nation is sharply divided on multiple fronts. Furthermore, the poll revealed these alarming findings that follow.

Only 38% of Americans now say that patriotism is important to them, compared to 70% of Americans in 1998. Only 39% of Americans now say that religion is important to them, compared to 62% of Americans in 1998. Only 23% of younger Americans now say that having children is very important to them.

This troublesome poll is at the very least unsettling for Americans who love our country, who are people of faith, and who are focused on family. This poll should serve as a call to action to pray earnestly for our nation, pleading with God to heal our land!

LET US PRAY…
Father, we lift up our nation to You as America finds itself in a very concerning position. Lord, please heal our land and help us to once again become a nation that looks to You collectively for guidance and wisdom. Father, please forgive us for our sin and bless this country with a bright future. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
