5th Circuit Court of Appeals Stops Mail-Order Abortion Drugs and More

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” – Psalm 139:13

The fight to protect human life continues and persists here in our nation even after the fall of Roe. A major aspect of the battle to defend human life for the pro-life movement is centered on combatting the new abortion frontier, chemical abortion which comes in the form of a pill.

Earlier this year, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced an utterly disturbing and unprecedented action concerning the issue of chemical abortion. The FDA alarmingly announced a regulatory change that allows local and retail pharmacies across America to sell chemical abortion pills over the counter.

In an effort to counter this reckless and harmful action, Alliance Defending Freedom filed a lawsuit claiming that the abortion pill mifepristone was unsafe and that the FDA did not examine it closely enough prior to approving its use. Thankfully, in a courageous and correct ruling on April 7th, Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk ruled in favor of Alliance Defending Freedom and reversed the FDA’s approval of mifepristone, which is one of the pills that is used to terminate human life in the womb.

On April 12th, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit partially kept in place the judge’s order that reinstates critical safeguards to chemical abortion drugs while the lawsuit moves forward. Thankfully, now chemical abortion pills are no longer allowed to be received by mail-order. Also, there are now numerous other important and necessary safety measures in place concerning chemical abortion.

LET US PRAY…
Father, we praise You that the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled to keep in place numerous safety measures that were ordered by Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk. Lord, as this case continues, we pray that our judicial system will get it right and ultimately outlaw chemical abortion. Father, as the fight to protect human life continues, empower and strengthen us to do all we can to cultivate a state and nation where life is honored and cherished. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
