National Coming Out Day (October 26, 2021)

“Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality.” – Galatians 5:19

A couple of weeks ago, earlier this month on October 10, 2021, the LGBTQ+ community celebrated what they called the “National Coming Out Day.” This is a day that has been set aside to “celebrate” those who announce publicly to the world that they are homosexual, bi-sexual, transgender, or some other so-called form of sexual orientation.

The idea that is being promoted by the LGBTQ+ community here is that one who is homosexual, transgender, or any other sexual orientation is innately that way and that they should tell the world who they truly are. This idea is even seen in some public schools where children at tender ages are being told that they can choose their gender and reveal to the world who they really are.

From a Biblical perspective “coming out” is nothing short of making a public statement that God has made a mistake. In reality, when one “comes out,” whether he or she realizes it or not, they are trying to “correct” how God has made them or what He commands of them.

Those who come out as transgender are stating, in a way, that God created them as the wrong gender. Those who come out as any sexual orientation other than heterosexual, are stating, that God made a mistake by calling them to a Biblical standard for sexuality.

The reality is, God has created each person perfectly for a wonderful life (Jeremiah 29:11). A person will never flourish to the highest extent until they fulfill God’s will for their life, which includes, accepting one’s God-given gender and following the Biblical guidelines for a sexual relationship. “Coming out” in the end will only lead to devastation, pain, and harm as all sin ultimately does.

LET US PRAY . . .
Father, please reveal Your truth to those in the LGBTQ+ community. Help them to understand that only living by Your standards will enable them to experience the highest extent of human flourishing. Lord, please reveal to those who have decided to “come out” that they are not acting righteously, but rather are acting sinfully. Father, may Your standard for marriage, life, and sexuality be lifted high and honored in America. Forgive our nation, Father, for the sexual perversion that has engulfed our land. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
