LET US PRAYGiving Thanks (November 24, 2021)
Thanksgiving’s roots are traceable back to many years ago when the Pilgrims took their first steps onto the shores of North America. When the pilgrims landed on the beaches of this continent, they were seeking to establish a new nation out of this new world they had found.
These courageous pioneers traveled a great distance in hopes of being able to start a country where they would be ensured religious freedom, where they could serve, honor, and worship God according to the teachings of Scripture in alignment with their conscience.
When the Pilgrims were settled in Plymouth, they focused their attention on the Almighty where they prayed and thanked God for His blessings. Thus, the Holiday of Thanksgiving was birthed.
Although there is nothing wrong, and everything good with this Holiday, as Christians we are commanded by Scripture to be a people defined by thankfulness. We are to not only show thankfulness to God and others once a year, but rather at all times.
May we focus this Thanksgiving and every day on the bountiful blessings God has so graciously and freely showered upon us. Let us follow the actions of the Pilgrims on this Thanksgiving and direct our attention to the Almighty and Praise Him for our freedom, country, state, family, and much more.
As you and your family gather for Thanksgiving tomorrow, our entire team at The Family Foundation prays you have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving!
