For years, some pro-abortion advocates have said that abortion must be legal and remain legal because abortion will relieve single mothers who are struggling financially of the financial stress that comes along with caring for a child. These advocates view abortion as if it is a tool to help women struggling financially to somehow get ahead.
Interestingly enough, however, scholars at the Charlotte Lozier Institute found in a recent study that the financial pressure that would persuade a woman to abort her child is likely to continue well after the abortion procedure. The study confirms that abortion does not help women who are struggling financially.
The study also showed that women who had an abortion because of financial struggles are likely to have a repeated second abortion due to the same financial issues. Abortion is not and never will be the answer to problems that a woman or couple may face in life.
The Bible explicitly condemns murder, and when one chooses murder (abortion) God’s blessings will not follow that individual whether it be financially or in other ways. God will not bless disobedience to the tenets of His Word.
