If Roe is Overturned, Kentucky Stands Ready to Protect Life and Support Mothers

LEXINGTON, KY – If last night’s leak of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs opinion is an accurate indicator of the direction the Court intends to take, the issue of abortion would rightly return back to the American people and their elected representatives in each state, including here in Kentucky.

The Family Foundation, with fellow family policy councils across the nation, has joined with Family Policy Alliance in a campaign that prepares for what comes after Roe. Together, the alliance of state family policy councils is uniquely equipped to lead in a post-Roe world. At AfterRoe.com viewers can see what the status of abortion would be in every state the moment Roe is overturned, including a specific page on the state of Kentucky.

Statement from David Walls, Executive Director of The Family Foundation in Kentucky:
“If it is true that the Supreme Court plans to overturn Roe v. Wade in its forthcoming Dobbs decision, this is the moment the pro-life movement has been faithfully working towards for nearly fifty years. After more than 62 million lives lost and immense damage done to our Constitution, it is time for Roe’s unjust reign of terror to come to an end. The right to life is the most fundamental right given by God, and every state should have the right to protect all people, including unborn babies in the womb.

If the leak is accurate, after Roe, Kentucky will be one of the strongest pro-life states in the nation – but we’ll still have significant work ahead of us – including Kentucky’s ‘Yes for Life’ Constitutional Amendment on the ballot in November. We look forward to the opportunity ahead to ensure Kentucky, and the entire nation, truly cherishes all human life and ensures mothers are supported.”
