It’s that time of year again! As summer break comes to an end, students across Kentucky are heading back to school for another year. Some students’ lives are changing drastically as they begin their very first school year. Others are entering a new grade, and still others are beginning their final year before graduation.
Whatever stage they are in, each student is entering a new chapter of their young life and with that comes a mixture of excitement and nervousness. Parents have these emotions as well, as they lovingly guide their children through all the challenges and triumphs that the school year will hold. But through it all, praise God that He is our rock and steady anchor.
Across the Commonwealth, from Pikeville to Paducah, Kentucky classrooms are filling up — public, private, and homeschool alike. Teachers, principals, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, and coaches will spend many hours with our children, and they need our prayers just as much as the students do.
May students and parents, teacher and coaches, alike, commit this school year to the Lord. May they seek Him wholeheartedly as we know that those who seek Him in all things “lack no good thing” (Psalm 34:10). Our gracious God can use all things, including this school year, to shape believers, and mold us more into the image of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 3:18).

Father, please bless and protect every student who is starting a new school year, whether they attend a public school, a private school, or are homeschooled. Lord, we place our children into Your hands, that You may guide them in Your paths. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
